One month and all is well

I am learning so many things about this great town. I have to admit that I love all the cultures. I have learned so much. I am slowly working on learning Somali. For the moment I can only say please and thank-you, but it is exciting and humbling to work so hard and only learn two words. Thank you to everyone helping me learn.

I also wanted to get the word out that I will be teaching some free Yoga classes at the library. I will be teaching three morning classes and two evening classes Mondays November 13, 20, and 27 at 8 am in the large meeting room; and Tuesday evenings November 14 and 21 at 8pm also in the large meeting room.

Feel free to email me with any questions, comments or concerns, purple.cat.yoga at gmail dot com.

Classes will be about 60 minutes.

The Purple Cat is home

Nothing like a lazy Sunday of catching up on the digital world, unpacking, some light housework, but to have it capped off so nicely; it is almost too good to be true. I have dinner in the stove, a load of clothes in the dyer, the cats are having their 9 o'clock crazies two hours early, and I turn on PBS to hear one of my favorite songs playing on the Lawrence Welk Show.

Yes, the Purple Cat is home, and all is well.

After some time away...

I am happy to report I should be back to my regular posting activity. It may take a few weeks before I am at full capacity, but it will happen eventually.

For the mean time I am weeding my way through nearly a month's worth of Bloglines backlog.

As some of you may notice, I have a small obsession about search engines. I am not a huge fan of Google, I prefer more precise search and metasearch engines. However, Google does have some good stuff out there. I use Gmail, Google Scholar, and Google News. While reading through some of my blogs today, I noticed Google has put yet another search engine out, Google Code Search. For those of you who search for code, can you please try this out and report back. The more specialized search engines that Google has developed seem to work pretty well, I am curious to see if the same will hold true here too.

Cheers to 56572

A feat not accomplished by many, the 56572 blog was able to get a photo of me on my first offical day as the new library director. For those of you who know me, it is really hard to get a photo of me without me knowing.

So congrats.
